Description
Talarian develops and market infrastructure software that enables businesses
to exchange information reliably and securely in real time, both internally
and with their partners, suppliers and customers. Their products and
services allow software applications to communicate across local or wide
area networks, including private networks and the Internet. Their flagship
product, SmartSockets, facilitates the real-time distribution of information
across virtually any type of network. SmartSockets also enables real-time,
two-way communications between distributed computer networks and mobile
information devices such as hand-held computers. SmartSockets uses both a
publish-subscribe model of communication to deliver information to those
applications that need it automatically as it becomes available, and a
queuing model of communication to store information and deliver it at a
later time if the application cannot currently be reached.
