Description

Key reasons I like this stock:

1. Value: Stock trading $4.7 while Book value $3.56, cash $2.66. It licenses its technology only, no inventory to write down, factor overhead etc.

2. Long term growth: There are only two popular technologies to get high speed Internet access today: DSL via existing phone lines, or Cable modem via cable TV network. Most DSL providers use AWRE's technology. High speed Internet will resume growth once the bubble is out and new killer applications emerge. Such as Digital Video and voice on Windows XP.

3. Insider buying: In the past 9 months, CEO, President and one director bought 27000 shares below $4, No one sold any shares in this period. They already own stock options and stocks, for them to buy using pocket money is not easy, showed confidence.

4. There are over 4M shares, about 20% short position against the float of 19M. The average daily volume is only 100K shares. If the stock establish the uptrend (which I think it is now), the shorts will go nuts to cover. 4M shares on daily volume 100K?!!! That mean 40 days of buying without selling one single share. Of course the volume will pick up when heated, but 40x daily volume is still big.

I am accumulating this stock on any weakness.

Aware, Inc. provides Digital Subscriber Line technology to semiconductor and equipment companies that make products to enable simultaneous high-speed data and regular voice transmissions over copper telephone lines.
Aware, Inc. designs, develops, licenses and markets DSL technology that enables high-speed Internet access over existing telephone networks. AWRE licenses its intellectual property and software to semiconductor and equipment manufacturers. For the six months ended 6/30/01, revenues fell 10% to $12.2 million. Net income before accounting change fell 55% to $2.1 million. Results reflect fewer customer projects due to a slowdown in the ASDL chip market and increased R and D expenses
